Biography

Nina Lombardo bridges feminine spiritual practice, sacred sexuality, somatic awareness techniques, healing, ritual, and psychology through her unique approach to working with women. Her training and professional background, combined with her lifelong devotion to exploring the mysteries of love and spirit, results in a method that is practical, grounded, and innovative, as well as deeply mystical and evocative of an innate wisdom within.

Nina’s pedagogy and much of the heart of what she teaches in regards to yogic intimacy and conscious sexuality is influenced by renowned teacher and author, David Deida, with whom she has been co-teaching since 2017. Prior to this, Nina was established as a healing practitioner, somatic educator, and artist.

After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Philosophy and minor studies in Spirituality and Health, Nina spent time living in the Andean highlands with a community of brujas—a formative experience which set the tone for her work with ritual, ceremony, energy, and magic. Soon after, Nina attended the Florida School of Massage and became a Licensed Massage Therapist. These decisions, amongst many others, were catalyzed through a healing crisis which motivated her to delve into paths of living that embrace body and spirit, human and holy, as reciprocally intertwined.

As a longtime student of Hatha Yoga and meditation, Nina became captivated by the therapeutic practice of Thai Yoga Massage, which integrates the sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda with Buddhist meditation and philosophy. Through an intimate live-in apprenticeship with her teacher, Ariela Grodner, Nina dedicated the next several years to the study and practice of this ancient healing art, eventually traveling to North Thailand to deepen her discipline.

In 2013, Nina founded Samadhi Healing Arts, through which she operated a private bodywork practice in Gainesville, Florida and taught continuing education courses in Thai Massage and other somatic healing techniques. Nina co-innovated a bodywork modality that integrates Thai Massage with the energetic practice of Polarity Therapy. She trained in Marma Chikitsa with revered Ayurvedic doctor, Vasant Lad, and is also a certified Reiki practitioner and herbalist.

In addition to her training in Transpersonal Somatic Psychotherapy with Paul Linn, Nina’s understanding of human psychology has been deeply impacted through her studies with Jungian psychoanalyst and post-trauma specialist, Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés, most recognized for her best-selling book, Women Who Run With the Wolves.

For over a decade, Nina has been leading sacred women’s circles and experiences—from her early years holding red tent gatherings in her local community, to her current work teaching feminine spiritual-sexual practices to thousands of women worldwide.

In 2018, Nina founded Amrita Institute, an organization devoted to Reviving the Feminine Spiritual Experience through education, resources, community, and events. She is passionate about restoring right relationship with the Feminine within the collective human psyche and creating spaces where women's spiritual voices can be shared and celebrated.

Nina is also a classically trained pianist, multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and lover of movement and dance. As a poet and writer, Nina feels most alive when she is weaving together words that touch on the mystery and sacredness of life.

Nina currently lives with her partner in the wild natures of Florida and enjoys spending her days cooking, singing, dancing, writing, creating, learning, and loving.
